For decades, the wound care industry has directed the majority of its innovation investment towards treatment modalities, including advanced moist wound healing dressings, negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), antimicrobial and biofilm-disrupting technologies, sophisticated exudate management systems, cellular and tissue-based products (CTPs), and, more recently, structured prevention programmes for pressure injuries and diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). These advances have delivered meaningful improvements in patient outcomes while creating substantial commercial value.
